Compensation:
- $74,000 to $104,000 annually
Role Overview:
The Technical Project Specialist (“TPS”) provides both administrative and operational support to the Reliability Services team, ensuring that technical projects are organized, documented, and executed efficiently. This role focuses on facilitating and accomplishing project activities, maintaining records, coordinating logistics, and supporting communication between engineering, operations, vendors, and clients. The specialist will contribute to technical projects based on experience and training. They will help to ensure compliance with company standards and supports the project manager and team members in achieving successful project outcomes.Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination, Support & Execution: The TPS will assist in the definition and control of project scope, timelines, and resource allocation. They translate business objectives into actionable technical plans and help ensure feasibility within engineering constraints.
- Assist project managers and technical teams with scheduling meetings, tracking milestones, and maintaining project calendars.
- Prepare and distribute project documentation, meeting agendas, minutes, and action item lists. Support the preparation of work packs, technical reports, and customer-facing documentation.
- Help organize procurement and installation timelines, especially around outage cycles.
- Coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings, including booking resources and managing communications
- Facilitate reporting and analysis of project progress, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Technical Project Execution: The TPS will contribute to the completion of tasks associated with various technical projects. The scope can include some or all the following based on experience and on-the-job training:
- Installation and configuration of Cutsforth software sold to customers
- Technical drawing reviews, revisions and creation
- Customer training and implementation support
- Meeting coordination and execution
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the connective tissue between engineering, operations, vendors, and clients.
- Lead meetings to align internal and external teams on technical details
- Manage project documentation to ensure clear communication between cross functional teams.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to validate system capabilities
- Communication and Documentation: Clear communication is critical for managing expectations and ensuring transparency.
- Prepare customer-facing reports and professional documentation.
- Respond to client inquiries and interface with internal engineering/support resources to provide technical justifications.
- Use tools like Asana for project management and Copilot AI for meeting recordings and transcriptions.
- Initiate communication with customers and help drive project deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of experience supporting technical, electrical and/or industrial projects.
- Associates or equivalent certification or greater in an area of electrical or technical education.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- A mastery of Microsoft Products including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint for the purposes of preparing professional, customer facing communications and reports.
- Strong task and project coordination skills to ensure consistency in workflow and record keeping.
- Experience and familiarity with web presentation and video conferencing solutions
- Adept at identifying customer needs and challenges
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Project Manager or similar certifications
- Basic to intermediate understanding of electrical concepts
- Basic understanding of IT network concepts & principles.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals is a plus.
- Experience with power plant/industrial operations, maintenance, and or construction.
- Experience and familiarity with web presentations and video conferencing solutions.
Other Qualifications:
- Successfully pass background check for cybersecurity access requirements.
- Travel to customer facilities may require additional criminal background checks.
- Strong project administration and task tracking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD, and project management tools like MS Project, Asana, etc.
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
- Consultative/customer service focused
Cybersecurity Role Expectations:
- Candidate will be responsible for reviewing policies and procedures related to cybersecurity and those relevant to the functions of their role.
- Candidate is expected to maintain a cybersecure work environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Must be able to use hands to type and to navigate a computer keyboard and mouse.
